Ideas & Feedback:

As you can imagine, moving to a new town can be tough. Now that I have arrived in Ottawa, it’s always great to get a tip or two. Maybe you know of a local secret or something that anyone who comes to Ottawa has to try (or avoid). Feel free to pass along that information via the email address above.

Contact Policy:

I welcome all emails, comments and suggestions.  But if your email is about more than just a question, here are a few tips for those interesting in getting in touch with me.

1) Know what I’m writing about

This blog and my writing is primarily focused on my new life in Ottawa.  It often features my opinions, my take on current news issues, local matters and of course, my personal daily life, framed in an Ottawa-based format. I do write about my travels as well, including visits to Toronto and Montreal.

Basically put, get to know me by reading this blog.

2) The Personal Touch

Remember who I am.  Use my name, not just “Dear Blogger” or “Sir or Madam” or “To Whom It May Concern”.  I try to make it a point to come across as personal in my writing, so any email to me should at least extend the same courtesy.   Especially if it’s something you think I would be interested in.

If you’re sending a press release or news clipping that you think I would find interesting, don’t just copy and paste without any introduction.

3) Small Businesses & Companies

I do promote small and local business when I find that they are relevant to what I write about, and something that I personally believe in.  That being said, I am open to new suggestions and ideas, but I won’t use this blog as an ad space for your company simply if you have something new you want to share with the world.

4) Samples

I love trying new things, but again, this blog is about my personal life and my life in Ottawa.  If your product can’t be related to Ottawa and/or my life, I may not be able to write about it.  And again, I won’t use this blog as a means to promote every new thing that comes along.
